The Abington Board of School Directors has announced Board orientations on the agenda for its June 9, 2020, meeting as follows:

Due to the current disaster emergency declared by Governor Wolf by Proclamation dated March 6, 2020, and the subsequent Executive Orders closing and extending the closure of schools, closing non-life sustaining business, and imposing a “stay at home” order for several counties, including Montgomery County, and in consideration of the health and safety of the school community, notice is hereby given that the Abington Board of School Directors will convene its regularly scheduled June 9, 2020 meeting using a live, web-based video streaming platform. The public Board meeting will be streamed live on the Abington School District YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/AbingtonSchoolDistrict/live) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
Abington School District residents, taxpayers, and school district employees who wish to provide public comment on the agenda, or on school affairs, for the June 9, 2020 meeting, should submit them via email. Comments will be accepted up until 6:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting at the following email address: June9BoardMeeting@abington.k12.pa.us. Emails should include the citizen’s name and address in order to be included as part of the meeting’s public record. Please note that all comments, including identification of the citizen, will be read aloud, subject to the time limits set forth in Board Policy. Comments received to the email box after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 will either be read during the second period of comments from citizens–depending on the volume of comments received–or will be compiled and addressed at the June 23, 2020, meeting of the Board of School Directors. Any objections pursuant to the Sunshine Act may also be emailed to the June9BoardMeeting@abington.k12.pa.us address.
The meeting shall be recorded and accessible on the District’s website and cable channel–posted no later than Friday, June 12, 2020–to allow those members of the public who cannot participate to review the proceeding at a later time.
